The story

Yodsanklai Fairtex, born Yodthanong Photirat in what is now Nong Bua Lamphu province, was nicknamed The Boxing Computer by Thai sportswriters for the precision of his technique. A southpaw, he became known for one of the heaviest left round kicks in the sport. He won Lumpinee Stadium titles at 112 pounds in 2001 and 147 pounds in 2005, then beat Australia's John Wayne Parr in 2005 to win the WBC Muay Thai super welterweight world title, which he kept until 2009. He beat Parr again in the 2008 final of The Contender Asia and added WMC, WPMF and Lion Fight belts. Based at Fairtex in Pattaya, he retired in 2017, returned for ONE Championship bouts, including a stoppage of Andy Souwer, and retired again in 2021, apart from a one-off win in 2024.
