The story

Coban Lookchaomaesaitong, born Banlu Anwiset in Buriram, was a 163 cm southpaw with unusual punching power. His favourite combination was a left cross, right hook and left kick, and he preferred to walk forward and punch rather than clinch. He won Lumpinee Stadium titles at 130 pounds in 1985 and 135 pounds in 1990, then collected world titles in Europe, Asia and Australia. His four fights with Ramon Dekkers between 1991 and 1994 are among the most celebrated in the sport: Coban knocked the Dutchman out with a left hook in the first round of their first meeting, in Paris, and the series finished at two wins each. Records credit him with 250 wins, 90 by knockout, in about 270 fights. He retired in 2000 and later coached in New York and Philadelphia.
