The story

Badr Hari, born in Amsterdam to Moroccan parents, was the heavyweight who could end a fight before the crowd had settled. He took the K-1 heavyweight title in 2007 with a 56-second knockout of Yusuke Fujimoto and, in 2009, stopped three-time Grand Prix winner Semmy Schilt in 45 seconds to become It's Showtime champion. The World Grand Prix itself eluded him: he was disqualified in the 2008 final against Remy Bonjasky and stopped by Schilt in the 2009 final. Trained for most of his career by Mike Passenier at Mike's Gym, he scored 92 of his 106 wins by knockout. Two losses to Rico Verhoeven and a string of late-career defeats followed, and in February 2026 he confirmed he was no longer an active fighter. Outside the ring he has had repeated trouble with the law.

Steal this

Feint the jab to draw a reaction, then commit to a full right cross in the first exchange instead of waiting several rounds to open up, the way Hari hunted early finishes.
