The story
ero Nika, an ethnic Kayan from Shan State, left home at 16 against her parents' wishes to train as a boxer in Naypyidaw, and won bronze at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. Short of boxing bouts, she turned to Lethwei in 2017, when very few Burmese women were competing. She drew with pro wrestler Nanae Takahashi on her debut in Tokyo and lost a world title fight to Julija Stoliarenko when low kicks fractured her shin. In January 2019 she won an Air KBZ championship belt, making her Myanmar's champion, and she was named female fighter of the year. After the 2021 coup she moved to Thailand, won Thai Fight tournaments in 2022 and 2023 and reached No. 1 in the WMO rankings at 53 kg. In 2025 she became the first woman from Myanmar to fight in ONE Championship.
