The story
mmanuel Pacquiao was born in Kibawe, Bukidnon, grew up in poverty and turned pro in 1995 at 16. He won his first world title at flyweight in 1998 and, with trainer Freddie Roach, climbed the weights with a fast, all-action southpaw style, beating Marco Antonio Barrera, Érik Morales and Juan Manuel Márquez. Across 2008 and 2009 he beat Oscar De La Hoya, knocked out Ricky Hatton in two rounds and stopped Miguel Cotto, and in 2010 he won a world title in an eighth division, something no one else has done. He lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2015, won a welterweight title at 40 and served as a senator in the Philippines. He returned at 46 in 2025 and drew with Mario Barrios.

Pair hand speed with footwork: Pacquiao got in fast, landed the straight left and was gone before the counter came. Drill southpaw step-in straight lefts and leave the range straight after each one.
