Boxing

Hands, feet, head movement, distance. The most measurable skill in fighting.

What it is

Boxing is the most precise study of range and timing in combat sports because the toolset is small: two hands, four punches, and the footwork and head movement that create angles. That constraint is why it develops timing faster than any other discipline.

Power travels up a chain — ground push, hip rotation, trunk, shoulder, fist — and the rear hand hits hardest because it has the longest rotational path.

New to boxing?

Start in the Beginners class or Striking Fundamentals. You learn stance, footwork and the four basic punches on pads and bags, and nobody hits you until a coach signs off five criteria.

Sparring comes by level, and only when you are ready: technical rounds at 30–50% once you are Licensed, positional rounds at Good, hard sparring only for Competitors on the approved list.

You don’t need to be fit or to have trained before. Every class scales, and your first class is $20.

What members say

Beginner
“I am brand new to boxing and martial arts, and Satori was a great place to get started. I had concerns and some intimidation about finding a good class since I’m a beginner. Luckily, I felt very safe and welcomed to join the class, and they had great instruction for me on building up from the very basics.”

Questions

No. Beginner classes are built for adults with no experience: minimal contact, every drill scales to you, and you only spar once a coach signs you off.
