The story
ordan Burroughs built a career around one attack everyone knew was coming: the double leg. The Camden, New Jersey native won two NCAA titles and the 2011 Hodge Trophy at Nebraska, took the world title that same year and became Olympic champion in London in 2012. He won further world titles at 74 kg in 2013, 2015 and 2017, moved up to 79 kg and won again in 2021 and 2022, reaching seven world and Olympic golds, the most by any American wrestler. Three world bronzes round out a remarkably long run near the top. In August 2026 he returned to competition in Real American Freestyle with an 11-0 technical fall over UFC welterweight Sean Brady.
